Green Design Concept of Hongxing Grinding Mill

In China, the majority of the grinding mill manufacturing companies only pays attention to the product quality, production cost and economic benefits but never cares about the pollution problems to the surrounding environment brought by the processing and applying and product dumping. How can we break through the green barrier and realize green design, manufacturing and disposal these more forbidding challenges. At present, many countries have reached an agreement: it is the same important for the economic development and environmental protection, neither of which can be neglected, and one after another they release the strategy and plan of sustainable development and the environmental protection strength should be strengthened and develop in the direction of standardization and institutionalization.

Green designing is an advanced design idea that is popular in resent years. It means that in the whole life cycle of the product, the manufacturing process should focus on environment and resources protection and pay attention to the environmental property of the product such as utilization of the resources, influences on the environment, detachability, retrievability and reutilization and some other features.

Green designing is also the key link that makes the grinding mill to be greed product. During the design process, we should take sufficient consideration into the application of the grinding mill itself and the negative effect of the manufacturing on the ecological environment and the manufacturers should minimize the harm and even eliminate it. So, how can we realize this brand new green design idea of grinding mill?

First of all, the raw material that is used in the production process of the grinding mill must be retrievable, disassemble, renewable and nuisanceless. At present, the raw materials of this mill are steel, cast iron, alloy which all can be recycled and reused. If these materials cannot satisfy the production conditions, we will have to choose some nuisanceless materials to replace them. Secondly, during the grinding process, great impact and vibration will be produced. In order to reduce the power consumption, we should choose high strength cast iron material that has vibration attenuation and absorption characteristics. In the structure aspect, we should adopt stress self maintaining whole carrier bar which is able to voluntarily offset the pressure inside the structure and at the same tome adopt various kinds of spring support that has vibration isolation performance. The conservation and maintenance of the green is also indispensible. The reduction of consumption means reduction of environmental pollution and saving of resources, maintain and restore the functions of the equipment with the least resources consumption and realize high efficiency of the application of the materials and energy in order to improve the quality and benefits of economic operation. Of course, dust removing and noise decreasing is also representation of green design and adopting the structure with exhaust vacuuming, seal treatment, isolation sound-absorbing functions will be a good choice.

The grinding mill series manufactured by Hongxing Machinery implement green design idea. Take the vertical Raymond mill as an example, this machine adopts material layer fine grinding theory and the electricity consumption is only 70% to 80% of that of ball mill. In addition, it can be operated in negative pressure and there is no dust problem. Another example is medium speed mill, which adopts highly efficient pulse dust catcher and there is no dust pollution in the operation of the whole set of equipment, and it is configured with silencer and censored room which can be used to reduce noise pollution and protect the surrounding environment.

Women Make a Contribution to Mining Industry

Under a neutral forecast, BC’s mineral exploration and mining industry (the “Industry”) will require approximately 5,910 additional workers by 2016 with the majority of these are expected to be in operational roles.

Additionally, the world demand for commodities continues to grow. In the past year we saw a doubling in expenditures - up from $154 million in 2009 to $322 million in 2010 – as well as over $1 billion being spent in construction and development of new mines or mine expansions.

The forecasted labour shortage means that the Industry will need to develop and implement a variety of initiatives to meet human resource requirements, including purposeful attraction, recruitment and retention initiatives that are inclusive to all persons.

Data from statistics Canada reports that women make up nearly half ( 48%), of BC’s total labour force.

Other industry surveys have determined that fewer than one in six workers (16%) in BC’s mineral exploration and mining industry are female. Additionally, data has shown that women are underrepresented and underemployed in the mineral exploration and mining industry at 5% of the total workforce in the non-traditional roles.

In late 2010, a study was initiated by the BC Mineral Exploration and Mining Labour Shortage Task Force and carried out by the Women in Mining sub-committee, thanks to funding provided in whole or by part through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement.

Three BC based populations were surveyed for this study:

Student Career Advisors from secondary and post-secondary institutions across BC;

HR decision makers in the BC Industry; and

Women working in the BC mineral exploration and mining industry.

The surveys provided excellent feedback and had a high participation rate, particularly from employed women This report adds value to current knowledge about female participation in the Industry. It also provides recommendations and strategies, which if implemented, should achieve greater attraction and retention of women into the Industry workforce.

Findings from these three surveys have:

Supplied data on the employed female participation rate in BC, particularly in the fastest growing occupations including heavy equipment operators, tradespersons and labourers (classified as non-traditional roles for females), helping build the case for and capability for change within the Industry;

(1) Established that women are most underrepresented in non-traditional roles;

(2) Identified the recruitment and retention attractors and barriers relevant to three occupation categories in BC – Operations Positions, Science Careers and Administrative/Management;

(3) Outlined the opportunities and provided recommendations to better utilize women as a solution to fill labour shortages;

(4) Engaged Career Advisors to understand their readiness to support, and solicit their expert opinion on the success factors and barriers to helping women explore careers in the Industry;

(5) Highlighted that the Industry will benefit from human resources strategies that provide recommendations and tools to help employers attract, recruit and retain females; and With its high quality products such as vibrating screen and cone crusher, Hongxing Machinery has ascended in the front rank of the world in the exporting of mining equipment.

(6) Established that more work remains to be done to get additional BC mineral exploration and mining employers on board.

Honduras Suffers from Mining Regulation Drought

Over $3 billion and near 15,000 job positions. That is the cost to Honduras, the third poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, as a result of a lack of rules for mining companies operating or wishing to explore in the country. Local newspaper La Tribuna reports that Santos Gavino Carbajal, President ofHonduras’s National Association of Miners(Anamin), blames the country’s Congress for not passing the long-awaited mining law. He said it “has cost the country its way out of extreme poverty.” Last year, Honduras mining exports totalled US$300 million, generated by the only three mining companies currently operating in the country. Carbajal said mining exports could have brought Honduras ten times more money, were it not for the fact that six companies had shut down their operations in the past year.

"If nine instead of three mining companies were still operating Honduras would be exporting over US$3 billion”, he told La Tribuna. Despite this situation, gold extraction in the country still grew 16.7% in 2011, driven mainly by demand coming from overseas. Carbajal urged the authorities to reconsider the approval of the set of mining rules submitted to the Parliament in February this year. The project, aimed to streamline procedures and attract more investment to the country’s emerging mining sector, proposed shortening the licensing process and simplifying the rules and regulations for foreign companies wishing to operate in Honduras. In anticipation, Honduras signed a mining cooperation agreement with Chile in January this year, under which the latter will provide technical assistance for the development of the Central American country’s mining industry. "This shows that the government is serious about encouraging private investment in mining. The passing of the Mining Law will stimulate investment and provide a framework for the big mining companies to return to Honduras,” said then-Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Rigoberto Cuellar.

Although research shows that Honduras has metal deposits such as gold, silver, copper, lead, iron, zinc, and deposits of antimony, marble and precious stones, unfortunately, its mining potential has not been exploited. Mining was the backbone of the Honduran economy in the late 19th century, but declined dramatically in the 20th century. The New York and Honduras Rosario Mining Company (NYHRMC) produced US$60 million worth of gold and silver between 1882 and 1954 before discontinuing most of its operations. Mining’s contribution to the GDP steadily declined during the 1980s, to account for only a 2% contribution in 1992. Research Meaning of Ultracritical Rotation Speed Ball Mill

With the fast development of the powder grinding industry, the research and development work of new type powder grinding equipment is also becoming more and more important and developing large-sized, energy saving, fine and super fine grinding machines is the development tendency of the mill machinery. At present, the total level of the ball grinder manufacturing and comprehensive performance of the equipment in our country still have a big gap compared with the advanced level in foreign countries. The main problems existing in the manufacturing of large-sized ball grinder in our country are the manufacturing level and the quality of the driving system such as coupling rack wheel and main bearing are not very high. As for the driving methods of the ball grinder, the start of the large sized ball grinding devices, the change devices of the lining plate, automatic control and the application of high-abrasive material still have gaps compared with the advanced ones. For this reason, at same time of keeping the existing size of the grinding machine, researching mills that has low energy consumption and high efficiency and that is able to conform to various kinds of grinding requirement is conformed to the industrial development demand in our country.

The kind of ultracritical rotation speed ball mill is a new ore grinding machine that is based on the super gravity theory and its grinding theory is complete different from the traditional mills. Its main characteristics are working on the condition that the rotation speed is higher than the ultracritical speed and its orient structure changes the movement locus of the ores and grinding media which makes the ores and grinding media move according to the designed parabolic path. In the milling process, the guide mechanism suffers from severe impact of the ores and grinding media and its deformation and stress strain condition is difficult to be directly tested and analyzed because the barrel of the ball mill is sealed outside. One the guide mechanism is damaged, the ore grinding process at the ultracritical rotation speed will not exist. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the deformation and stress strain condition in the crushing process and use the ANSYS software to analyze it at different rotation speed and fide the weak part and provide theoretical basis for the industrial design of the ultracritical rotation speed ball mill. The production capacity of this machine is significantly improved compared with the common ball mill, but its crushing media movement is completely different from that of the common mills. For this reason, analyzing the crushing media and ores movement rules of this mills and preliminarily explore a new kind of Grinding kinematic theory which can be used for guiding its industrial design and manufacturing. As a leading global manufacturer of crushing and milling equipment, we offer advanced, rational solutions for any size-reduction requirements, including quarry, aggregate, grinding production and complete stone crushing station. We also supply individual sand maker as well as spare parts of them.

Mining Boom Might Harm Australia's Benefit

Despite the frequent reports of a mining boom in down under, a recent study published by the Canberra based think tank The Australia Institute, is calling for a slowing down.

The study “Too Much of a Good Thing? Macro-Economic Case for Slowing Down the Mining Boom,” argues that “while it is clearly in Australia’s interests that the world is willing to pay record prices for our natural resources it is not nearly as clear that it is in Australia’s national interest to simultaneously develop 94 new mineral projects”. The 17-page report examines the skills shortage and infrastructure issues, urging for a competitive auctioning process for the granting of mining approvals, together with a rationing of new mining developments. Reactions are just firing up. The NSW Minerals Council smashed the report yesterday, calling it ‘flawed’ and ‘misleading’.

"The report is a political statement pretending to be fact-based. It misrepresents the scale and expected growth of the mining sector to give the impression that mining projects are overtaking the NSW economy and engulfing the state,” said the Council in a statement. It went on to say the report “is riddled with incorrect assumptions and flawed arguments, and misleads on an industry vital to the future of this State”. According to the industry body, the Australia Institute’s document is “simply a political vehicle designed to discredit the mining industry.”

Matt Grundoff, one of the polemic report’s authors, has previously published a paper on the effects of mining on Queensland, called “Job creator or job destroyer – an analysis of the mining boom in Queensland.” In that document, Grundoff stated that the mining boom would destroy around 20,000 non-mining jobs in the state.

"In Queensland there are a large number of proposed mining projects that if completed will cause significant structural change to that State’s economy and Australia as a whole,” he claimed.

The Minerals Council also slammed those findings, stating that the report “is riddled with incorrect assumptions and flawed arguments, and misleads on an industry vital to the future of this State.” Last month the Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (BREE) said Australia’s resources and energy commodity export earnings would continue to grow over the medium term to reach a record US$231 billion by 2017.

Research Development Direction of Domestic Crusher

With the fast development of science and technology and industry, the manufacturing technology and theoretical bases are also being explored. The research focus of the crushing equipment made by the crushing machines manufacturing companies in our country is mainly on the following three aspects:

(1) Focus on researching the energy saving and highly efficient theory of the crushing process, and at the same time, the researchers are also constantly making efforts to find new theories to breakthrough the existing three theories that have been well known to people.

(2) Focus on researching highly efficient crushing equipment that has do not use mechanical force or has multi-force fields of joint effect. Even though this topic is now only at its research stage, it has huge development potential, for this reason, it is one of the hot topics in the research field of crushing machines.

(3) Modify and improve the functions of the existing equipment and realize the maximization and high-end tendency of the equipment in order to more and more conform to the demand of social development for energy saving and consumption reduction.

Because the development of high-end technology of the mining industry in domestic and foreign countries in recent years has not every ideal, the research to the above three research focuses will still have a long way to go. However, with the more and more obvious tendency of increasing demand for mining resources in the global scope, the demand for mining machines and equipment will also go up significantly and people will also have higher requirement for the manufacturing technology and functions of the engineering equipment.

The development trend of the spare part standardization and general utilization of the crushing machinery is become more and more evident. In the breaking process, it needs to ensure the quality of the spare parts in order to guarantee the final crushing effects. In order to save the investment cost, the customers also have some requirement for the service life of the spare parts of the crushing machines and the service life of the whole devices. The crushing devices manufacturing industry in our country is also developing series products in order to reach the size standardization and general utilization of the same spare parts, improve the interchangeability of the equipment spare parts, promote the reasonable economic composition in the production process and simplify and reduce the maintenance cost of the relevant devices. And what is more, the crushing equipment such as hammer crusher and professional jaw crusher is also dedicating to the rational transformations of the structures to the existing products and the scientific determination of the machinery parameters in order to realize the improvement of the product performance.
