How is gold manufactured?

1. Rock is removed from the mine. Rock containing gold, is hauled to the crushing facility. Rock without gold is taken to the overburden storage areas.

2. Large haul trucks are used to move the rock from the Mine to the crushing Facility, or to the overburden storage areas.

3. Ore is processed at the two stage Crushing and Screening Facility,and hauled to the Valley Leach Facility.

4. The Valley Leath Facility is a lined, zero discharge area where dilute sodium cyanide process solution dissolves the gold, and is captured in the bottom of the lined area.

5. The gold is recovered from the process solution with a carbon adsorption process. The final product is a gold and silver button called Dore.

To separate the gold from the ore collected by the diggers in the mine tunnel, the ore was first crushed by a series of hammers in the stammer head. The crushed ore was then run over copper plates that had been treated with cyanide and then tinned with "quick-silver" (mercury). Mercury has a chemical affinity to gold and hence catches it. The resulting mixture was then heated to evaporate the mercury until only the gold remained. This method of extraction was used for many years although it was generally accepted that it was only 60% effective.

How is Cement Manufactured and Processed?

Cement manufacturing as a procedure and as a big production line has undergone many phases of makeover in current times.

An integrated cement manufacturing process is that prepares the raw mix, feeds it to the pyro-processing system (kiln), and then grinds the clinker from the kiln system into various cement products. Finished cement is stored in large silos on site or bagged for small quantity use.

Crushing process: The raw materials mainly limestone, clay, coke are crushed in the separate crushers and stored automatically into the respective silos.

Storage and Proportioning: The different raw materials are extracted from the silos in the desired proportion through table feeders and conveyed to raw mill.

Raw Milling: The raw mix is ground into a ball grinder at desired fineness to produce Raw Meal, and transported for Homogenizing.

Blending & Homogenization: The raw meal is homogenized in the blending silos, and is stored automatically into a storage silo for feeding to the kiln.

Palletizing & Burning: The nodules are made into a nodulisor and charged into the kiln for burning. The clinker after discharge is stored in the clinker yard through deep Bucket Elevator.

Clinker/gypsum crushing, storage & proportioning:

Clinker & Gypsum after crushing stored into the hoppers and extracted in the desired proportion with the help of table feeders and transported to the mill Hopper.

Cement Grinding: The clinker & Gypsum mix is ground to produce cement.

Storage & Packing: The cement is stored into the cement silos and aerated, tested and packed for dispatch.

●To ensure no materials are in the crushing chamber before opening the crusher.

●To adjust the feeding quantity of vibrating feeder, and increase from small materials to big materials, it is usually controlled the height of materials is 4/5 of the jaw chamber height. In addition, it should be also noticed that the largest particle size of materials is no more than 4/5 of the feed opening width. What’s more, when the feed particle size is continuous and uniform, the crusher can brings into play its optimal efficiency.

Many problems that would occur can be prevented if employees are trained properly. Employees can be trained on one-to-one basis or through a group session. Group sessions are more advisable if a new technique or process has to be imparted to employees. Employee training program should be designed in such a manner that it keeps in mind each employee"s needs and current skill status. Proper training of employees increases their morale, confident in operating the crusher, their efficiency to work and decreases employee turnover which in turn lead to better working machine and an increase in profit over the long run. Employee training is not a one time job rather it should be done periodically so that each person is well equipped with the correct and updated knowledge of operating and maintenance.
